Adam Taylor might seem like your typical, All-American kid. He loves chilling out, surfing, skating and playing video games. What’s far from typical is what happens when you get him near a vert or mega ramp. If you’re lucky enough to ever see Adam skate, you’ll be witnessing the future of vert skateboarding.
Supporting Adam in his life as a pro skateboarder are his parents, who moved the entire family from Cocoa Beach, FL to Encinitas, CA, the hotbed of vert riding. Here, Adam often skates the mega ramp and the Encinitas YMCA with a crew of legit pro skaters.
Skating with ultra-shredders has truly paid off. In 2007, after winning the Free Flow Tour, he went on to make his mark on the 2008 Dew Tour, placing in a number of events including a fourth at the Toyota Challenge in Salt Lake City and a fifth at the Right Guard Open in Cleveland. Adam also came in sixth overall for vert in the 2009 Dew Tour season.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Adam’s been known to travel to military bases performing demos for our troops, including to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where the US military sent him in 2009.
Fueled by a love for sushi, electronic music and the grit of the military, Adam has more than enough motivation to carry vert riding into the future and beyond.
